41st Casting Society Artios Awards (CSA): ‘Sinners,’ ‘Jay Kelly,’ ‘The Pitt,’ ‘The Studio’ and More

Casting Society (CSA) honored excellence in casting across feature film, television (scripted and unscripted), commercials and theater at the 41st Annual Artios Awards held tonight at ceremonies in Los Angeles, New York and London which saw Sinners, Jay Kelly, The Pitt, The Studio and more earn wins for the casting directors and their teams.
Sinners took the win for big budget drama. Casting director Francine Maisler is also nominated for the first ever Best Casting award at the Oscars this year, where she’s currently the frontrunner to win. Sinners defeated fellow Oscar nominees Frankenstein, Hamnet and Marty Supreme, as well as Bugonia and F1. One Battle After Another is also Oscar-nominated but was not eligible for an Artios Award nomination as nominees must be a member of the guild.
Jay Kelly earned the big budget comedy win for Douglas Aibel and Nina Gold and their team, beating out Materialists, The Naked Gun, The Phoenician Scheme, Wake Up Dead Man and Wicked: For Good.
Independent film was represented by Rental Family, Sentimental Value and Sorry, Baby, while Zootopia 2 won for animated film.
In television, winners included Severance, The Pitt, The Studio, Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, Adolescence, Queer Eye and more.
Harvey Guillén (What We Do in the Shadows) hosted the Los Angeles ceremony at The Beverly Hilton, Jeff Hiller (Somebody Somewhere) hosted the New York ceremony at The Edison Ballroom, and Jessica Gunning (Baby Reindeer) hosted the London ceremony at One Moorgate Place. The star-studded award ceremonies hosted over 1,500 guests with the combined three locations across the globe.
At the Los Angeles ceremony, The Lynn Stalmaster Award for Career Achievement was presented to Ayo Davis, president of Disney Branded Television and the Rosalie Joseph Humanitarian Award was presented posthumously to casting director and former CSA Administrator Laura Adler and The Hoyt Bowers Award for Excellence in Casting was awarded to casting director Julie Ashton. In New York, the Marion Dougherty New York Apple Award was presented to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. In London, The Global Impact Award was presented to GAP Workshops and The Capelier-Shaw Award for Excellence in Casting was awarded to casting director Kate Rhodes James.
