2019 Emmys: Creative Arts Emmy winner predictions in Guest Acting, Casting, Music categories and more
If you listened to this week’s Emmy podcast about the Creative Arts Emmy Awards this weekend you’ll have a good idea where Emmy beat writer Amanda Spears and myself lean on who’s going to win this weekend but here’s our side-by-side predictions – plus spoilers – for Animated Program, Reality/Competition Host, Guest Acting, Costumes (Contemporary, Fantasy/Sci-Fi, Reality and Period), Narrator, and Music (Main Title, Dramatic Score, Music & Lyrics, Music Supervision).
Two big questions from this weekend’s awards: can RuPaul tie Jeff Probst for the most wins for Reality Host (spoiler, he totally can) and just how many wins can Game of Thrones take even before hitting the big show? With that record-setting 32 nominations, it could conceivably break the all-time win record here (12, set by, you guessed it, Game of Thrones – twice) before extending it next weekend.
The Creative Arts Emmys also sets up some of the biggest fights we’ll see going into the Primetime Emmys. While Game of Thrones is likely to steamroll, over on the comedy side Veep and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel – the last two Comedy Series winners – will finally go head to head. But watch out for Barry and Fleabag here, too. Over in Limited Series, we’ll see Chernobyl, Fosse/Verdon and When They See Us contend in multiple categories against each other. Who will come out on top?

The Creative Arts Emmy Awards will take place over two nights, on September 14 and 15, and then air on FX Saturday, September 21. The 71st Primetime Emmy Awards will be held on Sunday, September 22. Keep an eye and hear out for our podcast and predictions for those next week.
