Tensions rise in first trailer for France Oscar submission and Cannes winner ‘Les Misérables’

Amazon Studios has revealed the first trailer and poster for Les Misérables, the feature film debut from Ladj Ly, who won the Jury Prize at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival this year.
Review: ‘Les Miserables’ is a technical marvel and a breathtaking debut
Official synopsis: Stéphane (Damien Bonnard, Staying Vertical), has recently joined the Anti-Crime squad in Montfermeil, a sensitive district of the Paris projects. Paired up with Chris (Alexis Manenti) and Gwada (Djebril Zonga), whose methods are sometimes unorthodox, he rapidly discovers the tensions between the various neighborhood groups. When the trio finds themselves overrun during the course of an arrest, a drone begins filming every move they make.
Interview: Cannes winner Ladj Ly, director of ‘Les Misérables’
Les Misérables is France’s official selection for the International Feature Film Oscar and they will release the film in the US on January 10, 2020.
