‘Brooklyn’ Trailer and Poster from Fox Searchlight Breaks Into the Oscar Race
One of our most talked about and anticipated films for the Oscar race this year reveals its trailer and poster today, Fox Searchlight‘s Brooklyn. Starring Oscar nominees Saoirse Ronan (Atonement), Julie Walters (Billy Elliot) and Oscar winner Jim Broadbent (Iris) this moving tale of a young Irish girl in 1950s New York could be a major player this year. From Best Picture to Best Actress to Best Adapted Screenplay (not to mention the gorgeous techs), the film has the potential to be Fox Searchlight’s #1 film this season.
From Fox Searchlight:
BROOKLYN tells the profoundly moving story of Eilis Lacey (Saoirse Ronan), a young Irish immigrant navigating her way through 1950s Brooklyn. Lured by the promise of America, Eilis departs Ireland and the comfort of her mother’s home for the shores of New York City. The initial shackles of homesickness quickly diminish as a fresh romance sweeps Eilis into the intoxicating charm of love. But soon, her new vivacity is disrupted by her past, and she must choose between two countries and the lives that exist within.
Brooklyn comes to select theaters this November.
