Houston Film Critics Society (HFCS): ‘Parasite’ is Best Pic; Renée Zellweger, Zhao Shuzhen pick up acting wins
The 13th Houston Film Critics Society awards were handed out tonight and Parasite was selected as Best Picture. The South Korean critical and box office hit also picked up Best Director for Bong Joon Ho and Best Foreign Film.
Sam Mendes’ 1917 was also a triple winner, taking Original Score, Cinematography and Visual Effects.
The acting prizes went to Adam Driver, Renée Zellweger, Brad Pitt and Zhao Shuzhen.
John Wick 3: Parabellum was the recipient of the inaugural Stunt Coordination award, beating out competition like Ford v Ferrari and Crawl.
Marriage Story and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood led the nominations with six apiece. Once also had a Best Movie Poster nomination, which it won.
Horror meister Roger Corman received the group’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
