Being nominated for an Academy Award has to be an amazing feeling. Being nominated for a film that explores a long ignored segment of society has to make it even better.

Doug Roland’s Feeling Through tells the story of a late-night encounter on a New York City street that leads to a profound connection between a teen in need and a man who is DeafBlind. The film is nominated for an Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film and is the first film of its kind to star a DeafBlind actor to be nominated.

The film’s subject grabbed the attention of Oscar winner Marlee Matlin with Oscar winner Cher and Colman Domingo raving about on Twitter. We were lucky to catch up with Roland after he was nominated to discuss the news and their reaction to this wonderful news.
