Shangela is bringing a little Halleloo to the holiday season.

The Emmy-nominated star of We’re Here, RuPaul’s Drag Race alum and multi-hyphenate entertainer is set to host reunion special 12 Dates of Christmas: Unwrapped for HBO Max. 12 Dates of Christmas, a dating show set in an Austrian winter wonderland, follows three single people trying to find somebody to bring home for the holidays. The series hooked Shangela not only with its premise, but with its inclusion of the search for gay love.

On the reunion special, Shangela guides the proceedings as “the Andy Cohen of drag,” and attempts to make sense of all of the drama, scandal and heartbreak from the season. It’s just another opportunity for Shangela, who also recently made a guest appearance on ABC’s Station 19, to shine.

Daniel Trainor spoke with Shangela about the experience of filming the reunion, dating during quarantine, future television plans and (just in time for any last-minute gift buying needs!) her line of hand sanitizers called, of course, Shanitiziers.

12 Dates of Christmas: Unwrapped premieres December 17 on HBO Max and the Nancy Drew of Drag is about to give you ALL the reunion T, baby.
