Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson go a little mad in first trailer for ‘The Lighthouse’

From Robert Eggers, director of The Witch, comes a murky sea tale starring three-time Academy Award nominee Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson, comes The Lighthouse. Shot in 35mm black and white and in the classic Academy ratio, it features only two characters wrestling with loneliness on a deserted island in the 1890s; a stunning descent into madness tale and a visual feast for the eyes.
The Lighthouse made its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival this year where AwardsWatch critic Mina Takla called the film “incredibly crafted and impeccably atmospheric.” The will next hit the Toronto International Film Festival in September.
A24 will release The Lighthouse on October 18th. Here is the thrilling first trailer and poster.
