The 2025/2026 film awards calendar will be updated throughout the year as new dates for film’s biggest and best events, festivals, nominations and awards are announced.
This year’s major film festivals kicked off with Sundance in January, Berlin in February and SXSW in March just after Oscars week. Cannes takes place May 13-24, then we head to Venice from August 27 to September 6, Telluride from August 29 to September 1, Toronto from September 4-14, New York from September 26 to October 13 and AFI from October 22-26.
The Golden Globes continue on CBS (they secured a five-year deal two years ago) and once again be hosted by comedian Nikki Glaser after a modest ratings bump last season. The SAG Awards had their second year as a live show exclusively on Netflix. The Critics Choice Awards, like many shows in the wake of the January 2025 Los Angeles fires, moved well into February but are expected to return to go back to back weekends with the Globes once again this season.
The 98th Oscars will be held on March 15, 2026 and hosted by Conan O’Brien for the second year in a row.
