2015 Summer Box Office Predictions

1. Avengers: Age of Ultron – $615M – May 1

It’s hard to imagine anything else this summer coming close to the behemoth that will be Avengers: Age of Ultron. The first is the 3rd highest grossing movie of all time and the three Iron Man films are all $300M+ grossers. Add to the fact that the film has already opened in several countries worldwide last weekend to the tune of $201M (up 44% from the first one) and we’re looking at a monster.

Now any number of the films listed could flop (I’m looking at you, Ted 2 and San Andreas) and there are a handful of movies ready to surprise and take their place if they do. Any number of Pixels, Terminator: Genysis, Fantastic Four, Ant-Man, Vacation, Tomorrowland, Straight Outta Compton, Man From U.N.C.L.E., Pitch Perfect 2, Southpaw could prove to be the right mix for box office success in 2015. Put on the spot I would say of those film that Vacation, Straight Outta Compton and Southpaw have a good shot.
